Kotaki White—Each Bottle Filled with Hope
(Sakae Village)
Sakae Village is located at the northernmost point of Nagano Prefecture and retains Japan’s idyllic countryside scenery. In this small village is produced an exquisite variety of rice called Kotaki-mai.
The village was ravaged by a powerful earthquake in 2011, and since then locals have dreamed of restoring it to its former beauty. Kotaki-mai rice was rebranded as “Kotaki White” with the villagers’ hopes in mind.
The countless grains of rice in each bottle represent the hopes and dreams of Sakae’s villagers.
