ピッタ・タウファトフアさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ピッタ・タウファトフアInstagram)「I’ve had a lot of questions about why I haven’t followed up my book launch for ‘The Motivation Station’ with a book tour. This here is the reason. I had the Taekwondo Tonga team fly over to Australia for a training camp in the lead up to the South Pacific Games. The largest multi sport tournament in the pacific, held every four years. Some of these guys had never left Tonga and some had never competed in a Taekwondo tournament in their life. They are preparing to go into battle and my coach Master Paul asked that I help them prepare as we don’t have much time. The smart thing to do after a book launch is to do a book tour. To do a circuit of signings and media interviews In order to promote the book and ‘ get it out there ‘. I had time for a couple of interviews before the book launch but the day after, I flew to Australia to go into camp with the team. I missed out on the follow through media campaign for a piece of work that took me thousands of hours and a whole year to write. And I would do it again in a heartbeat. I believe in the power of what I presented to help people overcome obstacles they face in life. I believe in the strength of the content, I wrote each of those 266 pages with my own fat fingers typing on a keyboard. Social media will be how I promote my book as it allows me to help prepare the team at the same time. I believe and can already see it building awesome momentum through its own merits rather than an expensive marketing campaign or strategy. Ive never done things the traditional way, sometimes with good consequences and sometimes with less then optimal consequences, but all were my way and for you reading this; I hope you approach life in ‘ your unique and special way’ . I’ve postponed any book signings and book tour because I have a team of young Tongans who need all the help they can get. If you’ve been watching my instagram stories you will see the team fighting through the pain of a tough camp. They sing in the car every day and this gives me strength and renews my spirit.
