Urs Fischer, Alex Israel, and Jonas Wood are among the six artists who have created limited-edition reinterpretations of Louis Vuitton’s iconic Capucines bag as part of a new collaborative project.

The bags are presented for the first time at “Louis Vuitton X,” an exhibition that celebrates the fashion house’s 160-year history of artistic collaborations, now on view at the 468 North Rodeo Drive building, Beverly Hills. The exhibition also brings together a collection of early twentieth-century special-order trunks, art deco perfume bottles, iconic Monogram bags reworked by artists such as Frank Gehry and Cindy Sherman, and original collaborations by artists such as Richard Prince. arioddknee What’s the female to male ratio of the artists chosen (I.e paid) for the LV gagosian “partnership?” I’m hoping at least half represent women as they are very much underrepresented in both the art and fashion world. Lots of men designing bags and clothes for women..... I feel like they have missed a real obvious opportunity here.
