@_victoriakessova the process of coming here “””legally””” can take over 10 years. nothing will ever justify the conditions that the united states puts these people through at the border and in concentration camp like conditions in detention camps around the country. you’re so lucky that you’ll probably never have to flee political violence in your country just to be denied a safe place to live and be held in deplorable conditions. your privilege really jumped out.

@bss176 wdym?? Every country has its positives that can be well differentiated from its negatives. Also Independence Day is to celebrate the USA’s establishment as an individual state and the severing of ties from European rule. Independence Day inherently is innocent and is a day to commemorate the achievement of the US as an entity, and celebrating the holiday doesn’t entail that all of the US’s negatives are cancelled out

@_victoriakessova like i said before: seeking asylum is not illegal. and the fact that you believe that mexican immigrants who come to the United States either “illegally” or “legally” get things for free really shows how uneducated you really are. mexican immigrants work harder than a lot of people who live in this country and most of them have earned their right to live in the United States.

@shelbywayout Like I stated in an earlier reply Independence Day isn’t about the negatives and positives of a state, it’s sole dedication is celebrating a sovereign state. Also if you choose to not celebrate Independence Day that’s ofc your individual choice that’s to be respected, just wanted to respond saying that modern day politics have nothing to do with Independence Day^^

@shelbywayout that’s how it is for everyone and that’s how life works, and just because they are right next to america doesn’t meant they have a right to break the law to come in and get everything for free. my relatives from russia have been waiting over 16 years to come visit america but still can’t.

@bloxydraco like I said in an earlier reply, it’s not praising the negatives of the US including the slave trade. I’m personally praising Independence Day because a country gaining its independence is always something to be celebrated, especially when you’re of that nationality^^
