@royal.dez @_nellaleonard these comments piss me off. 1) fashion nova offers a variety of sizes, that fit many different body types. they may have a different style of clothing they sell but you are comparing a store that sells ONE size to a store that sells sizes from an xs to a 3x. 2) for years, brandy melville has been put on this pedestal for being so cool and fashionable. when i was in middle school, if you wore brandy you were cool. the sad truth is, if you can’t fit into brandy clothing, you can’t wear it, so you can’t be cool. fashion nova is not regarded in the same way. in my experience, i’ve heard about it a couple times in youtube hauls, but it is nothing close to the popularity brandy has. it’s devastating because girls who look up to these brandy models want so badly to fit their aesthetic and feel pretty and cool, but they can’t. 3) wanting more than one size is not body-shaming ANYONE. brandy should continue selling the sizes that they do because they do fit a lot of people! but in no way whatsoever does “one size fit all”. one size fits a percentage of the population, and when girls who can’t squeeze into the xs jeans look at that message on the tag, that is teaching young girls that they do not fit an apparently “inclusive” size. it’s teaching young girls that their bodies aren’t good enough for these cool, fashionable clothes. and don’t say that it isn’t that deep, because it is. this takes such a tole on girls’ self-esteem and body image. THAT is why people are made. THAT is why people are validated when they make negative remarks regarding how brandy is “one size fits all”.

@patriziaxmakeup brandy is a really big company, and they set an example for other companies. They also have a huge influence over young women and girls. They make super cute clothes, but only make one size, and it feels pretty shitty when you can’t fit into their clothes. They cater to teenage girls who are very impressionable, and are more likely to become obsessed with being skinny enough to fit into their clothes and may turn to eating disorders to become as skinny as the models. Brandy is putting out the message that that only skinny girls are good enough for their clothes. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there aren’t any plus size only companies on the same scale as brandy Melville.

@patriziaxmakeup from a business point of view it would make a lot more sense if they started stocking more sizes, as more sizes means more customers, and more customers means more sales! It sort of goes without saying, but as you said it’s completely up to them. And the reason why ‘no one complains about plus size stores’ is the harsh reality that society has made majority of girls think skinny is beautiful, and when shopping, you’re not going to walk into a plus size store and think, “geez, I’m not fat enough!” No ones trying to be politically correct here, I just think it’s important to start realising that all body types are different, and all body types matter! ?

People are so rude calling thin girls twigs. My girlfriend is super thin and she always feels insecure about it and people will say things like wow your arms are so skinny and your legs are so skinny and it’s so insensitive. She always covers up because of that and why is it people think it’s ok to make people feel bad who are naturally thin.
Thin girls also suffer from issues and some can’t be curvy so stop bashing them just because it is less “mean” then calling a bigger woman names.

@justalostkat What are you on about? Like someone else said, that’s a you problem. You can’t go and blame people who are skinny for your eating disorder. But yeah, skinny people should just stop being skinny, and stop walking outside, and stop showing themselves whenever you or other people are outside, cause it might trigger them, huh? Just like being naturally thicker is a thing, being naturally skinny is too - skinny people get shamed too. They are NOT the cause of eating disorders.

@decieeeeeeeeee first off, it doesn’t have to be just black there are Asians and Hispanics tagging them and they don’t get posted and it’s not that hard to ask people to model for them. They literally hire pretty people to work at their store and take pictures in the clothes, they can definitely hire more people of color. And I shouldn’t feel scared to walk into the store cause I’ll be the only mixed person in there. Just a thought
