The other day while running errands and such, we were all tired and getting crankier by the minute, so we rolled down the windows, throwing our proverbial bad moods out of the car. About a minute later we did the same thing, and none of us looked the merrier for it. So with our window trick lost on us, we decided to take turns saying out loud what is good in our lives or what we’re thankful for. It felt a little forced at first go, but after a few rounds, there were smiles (the genuine kind), and laughter, and our entire afternoon turned around lending itself towards a wonderful evening. It‘s not always the cure-all for every situation, but I have found more often than not, focusing on what’s good and what we’re grateful for does help and can be the very turning point that we’ve been wishing for all along.
