Executed in 1890, Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Evening Landscape with Two Peasants’ was created during the last two months of Van Gogh’s life when he relocated to the town of Auvers-sur-Oise. It was here that the artist created some of his most enduring masterpieces. Measuring 24 5/8 by 18 5/8 inches, the piece was created on the largest sheet size used by Van Gogh and can be tied to a very small number of works on paper executed in Auvers in 1890, the majority of which reside in museum collections, including the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
