Did you know that to protect their eggs and small chicks from the cold, King Penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus) parents carry them on their feet and cover them with a special flap of skin? Females and males take turns watching over the eggs and hatchlings. The King Penguin, second largest penguin species in the world, congregates on South Georgia, an island in the south Atlantic near Antarctica.
