Anrakuji Temple—Yukimura Sanada’s Lodging of Choice
(Ueda City)
Anrakuji Temple is known as Nagano’s oldest Zen temple.
The area has connections to the Sanada family, and when Yukimura Sanada visited Bessho Onsen, it is said that he always stayed at Anrakuji.
Within the grounds is an eight-sided, three-story pagoda, which was the first place in Nagano to be designated a National Treasure and attracts many fans of history from around Japan.
