During my time in #Payahuunadü, the Place of Flowing Water, I met with Jolie from @indigenouswomenhike to learn more about the connection between the Paiute tribe and their ancestral homelands. Their ties to Payahuunadü span generations longer than any other people can claim. During our talk, Jolie and I discussed the relationship between the tribe and the climbers. We recreate on Paiute land and return to our homes. This land, though, is their home. Jolie asked me to consider what I could give back to the land in return. . Payahuunadü has given me some of the best experiences of my life. During my visit, I shared my love of climbing with the next generation of Paiute members in hopes that they develop an even greater love for a place that has belonged to them for time immemorial.
