Mt. Risuke is a small mountain on the ridge stretching toward Mt. Nishibetsu. It was named after a man named Risuke who devoted many years for the improvement of the mountain trails and protection of alpine plants. If you are climbing Mt. Nishibetsu, do visit Mt. Risuke, too. You'll have an excellent panoramic view of the caldera surrounding Lake Mashu.⠀
*The winter landscape is wonderful, but you should note that snow has not been cleared from the forest road, so you won't be able to drive up to the entrance of the trail.⠀
