next artist for @secondskyfest — NINA LAS VEGAS. i’ve said this before but @ninalasvegas is my favorite dj. she smashes it behind the decks, has incredible dance and pop records of her own, and her label NLV Records is pushing club music forward at all times. she’s such an extremely positive influence

@brakelightz it really doesn't make a difference what the name is. Like the people who wanted to go to the multivrs thing weren't gonna go to porter's festival and vice versa. They're both for different crowds and both deserve to exist with whatever name they wanted, but the multivrs people were looking for attention and jumped on the opportunity for it. Porter wasn't like "Oh there's a poc and LGBT festival with the name multivrs. I hate those groups so let me make my festival multiverse and overshadow them" "multiverse" is a pretty generic name IMO and it shouldn't surprise anyone if two entities use that name for their festival. it's all outrage culture at its finest. It's like copyright trolling.

@szy.mon the money part seems iffy to me, but I really feel that these people feel that porter is bulldozing them and their efforts to be heard. Especially considering golden voice is a lobbyist for anti lgbtq+ rights. They feel incredibly attacked by these people and I get it. If they thought this could be peacefully resolved they probably would have, but the only thing they know about Porter is that he’s with Goldenvoice and goldenvoice is against what multivrs is partially about.

@szy.mon your white privilege is showing. bold of you to assume that this coincidence wouldn’t hurt anyone. of course, both sides jumped at each other’s necks and unwarranted accusations were thrown but porter made a post for us to respect the name change and to respect the other festival. oh! and btw, capitalism kills and exploits poc soooo idk how you can still support capitalism knowing that!

@communistjoon multiverse is a pretty generic name for a festival. Having the same festival name as some obscure sjw festival doesn't make you a white supremacist. This coincidence isn't harming anyone, lmao, this is all just outrage culture at its finest. Also, communism killed 100 million people I don't know if you can still support communism knowing that (because your username).

@communistjoon say it louder! People need to stop spitting hate at the multivrs people. After being trampled on a lot I understand why their initial reaction would be to make a ruckus about it. This is just two very different groups of people who know NOTHING about each other clashing because both sides feel VERY attacked. Porter wouldn’t want his fans responding violently.

@ben_aussem oh stop being so dense. porter did the right and respectable thing by changing the name. their festival is a space for poc and lgbt+ individuals and there has always been a history of white people overshadowing said groups. of course i don’t agree with the money asking part but requesting to change the name is completely justifiable.
