The Never-Ending Project, aka, Our Home. Worked on creating a sectional this morning, which I’ve wanted to do in here after doing two of them for clients last year and being so jealous of the coziness. Cushions still seriously need to happen on the entire sofa (going for all linen/down alternative like in June), and that too-small drawer won’t stay there (it’s the original drawer from the main sofa)...and the back needs fixed and the shelf needs finished and the waterfall edge on the counter needs to be cut to size and installed and the windows need trim and and and....the list goes on!
We ARE getting closer and closer, slowly but surely, and it’s becoming more and more the home we want it to be.
Sometimes I long for when we built Louise and June and didn’t have to live in the space while building, and didn’t have other reno projects going on that zapped so much of our time and energy.
I’m tired of being tired, and tired of living in a work-in-progress, but the end is so close. I’m sure of it. ??

littlechromepill I know you’re tired of it but the total honesty of this makes me feel a little better. This past summer my renovation stopped when I was living in it (except for when everything fell apart on a washboard road and I had to patch it back together 😒). Overall, this has taken so much longer than I thought and when the weather warms up I’m going to be redoing a lot of it. And I still don’t have a bathroom. Sometimes I bag out of watching other people’s projects because it only takes a couple months. I’m in to years. 🙄 Your space is looking beautiful and thank you for sharing.

I just finished reading Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott... you do what you can, when you can, and when it all seems overwhelming you stop and break it down and start again piece by piece...you ARE getting there, (like so many of us!) bird by bird.
