Russian President Vladimir Putin says his country is ready for another Cuban Missile-style crisis — if the U.S. is foolish enough to want one.
Putin warned that Russia currently has an edge when it comes to a first nuclear strike. His comments came as a Cold War-era arms control treaty unravels.
He added that Russia could deploy hypersonic missiles from ships and submarines outside of U.S. territorial waters if the U.S. deployed intermediate-range nuclear weapons in Europe.
