I’m a story-teller. An activist. And a theater lover. Education is my passion. I fundamentally believe we need to transform our high schools so they work for ALL young people – no matter their race, gender or zip code. I’m excited to be on the host committee of XQ Super School Live with @ava & @rafaelcasal. It’s a new one-of-a-kind, immersive storytelling tour to inspire people to reimagine high schools in their community from @XQAmerica and @Pop-Up Magazine. It’s going to be a night of high school drama full of stories, selfie confessionals, viral gratitude, and multimedia adventures that celebrate the everyday heroes transforming America's high schools! While two-thirds of high school graduates go on to college, 52% of those in 2-year colleges and 20% of those in 4-year colleges must take remedial courses for knowledge and skills they should have gotten in high school. The bottom line, as a nation $1 BILLION every year on remedial courses.
