#MichaelHeizer: In 1968, Michael Heizer and Robert Scull took a helicopter ride over Jean Dry Lake in Nevada where “Rift,” commissioned by Scull, was located. This photograph and other archival materials from Heizer’s files are currently on display in his solo exhibition at Gagosian Le Bourget.

Because the first iterations of Heizer’s works from the late 1960s were conceived as temporary installations and subsequently deteriorated, they now only exist in photographs. Learn more via the link in our bio.
