【冬へと移りゆく庭園】

ここ数日で気温もグッと下がり、冬本番が近いことを感じるようになりました。

この秋、「TOKYO RED GARDEN」で多くの方にお愉しみいただきました庭園も、その葉を落とし冬への準備が始まりました。

歴史ある庭園の木々を守るための、菰巻き（こもまき）も完了。
この菰巻き、実は江戸時代から大名屋敷で行われていた害虫駆除のひとつで、今でも続いている日本ならではの冬支度です。

葉を落とす木もあれば、この季節に庭園に彩りを与えてくれる花もあり、いまは椿が美しい姿を見せています。

冬には冬の庭園の愉しみ方があります。

It's getting colder these days to look like winter is on its way... Many of our guests enjoyed autumn leaves in "TOKYO RED GARDEN" this autumn, whose leaves have already shed their leaves and it starts preparing for winter.

In order to protect trees in our historical garden, "KOMOMAKI" has already been completed. "KOMOMAKI" is one of the pest control methods which had been done to protect trees in the Daimyos' residences in the Edo period and is the winter proof unique to Japan still continuing presently.

On the one hand some trees shed their leaves, but on the other hand some flowers add colors to the garden. Camellia is now in full bloom... There is a way in which you could enjoy the garden only during winter.
