Mt. Chogatake―Take in the Great Outdoors in Winter
(Matsumoto City, Azumino City)

Mt. Chogatake was named for the snowy shape of a butterfly, or chō, that appears on it during spring. Due to its beauty, it was named one of Nagano’s 100 Famous Mountains.

Mt. Chogatake is very popular for winter climbing due to its relatively easy terrain. You can take in the scenery of the great outdoors in winter while breathing in the clear, cool air atop the mountain.
