Recently I learned that I’m neuro-atypical. It was a relief to find that there was a reason I’ve always felt different from any group of people I engaged. I used to describe to new friends that they may approach me as they would a cat, seeing as how I seem to share many traits with them. Naturally few people could grasp the concept. However knowing that there were other creatures similar to me gave me a sense of safety growing up.
And now that I’ve learned that there are humans like me, it is even more comforting. However nothing beats a comforting afternoon sit with a good feline.
