Here I am working on a hot-pressed archival paper, my favorite material to draw on as I find it to have a smooth texture that is good for both ink and graphite, which I commonly use combined in my work. To create this piece, I first used my Sakura mechanical pencil to sketch out my outline on the final paper, and then used my Micron to render the character. I am using the 003 Micron the entire time on this piece, as I wanted this creature’s scales to all be perfectly matching and cohesive. Working on a unique shape can be a really fun way to play with the composition. Sometimes I will sketch out my concept for the piece, and then lay different cut out shapes over my sketch to see if there is one that makes the concept really come together, and in this case it was a circle. I will then make any changes needed on the original sketch to make it work in the new shape, and jump in with my Sakura pens to complete the piece!」11月23日 4時05分
