After returning to my hometown, I managed to get in a (minor) car accident AND we found that our entire bed platform + storage underneath was covered in a 1/2” layer of mold.
I am very thankful for my parents who helped us rebuild our entire bedroom in just a few days and helped me handle the accident mess.
We’ve been home for awhile now, but this is the first second I’ve had to curl up in my (new) bedroom in an Airstream that isn’t torn apart.
Adelaide is with her dad, Ellen’s spending some time crafting more ornaments (let us know if you want some!), and so naturally, I grabbed a piece of leftover pumpkin pie, some spiced tea, my quilt, and Gilmore Girls and retreated to our simple, clean, fresh bedroom.
We’ve been going nonstop for so long that my achy, sick, overly stressed body (I am afraid my sickness is possibly from the mold) just needs to rest.
Just for a little minute.

I am so grateful - beyond words grateful - for a soft place to land. I needed it more than I thought I ever could.
