A memorial monument stands on Onodachisho where Emperor and Empress Showa rested for a while when they visited Norogawa forest road in 1957. From here, you can view Japan's second highest peak, Mt. Kitadake (3,193m/10,476ft), and third highest, Ainodake (3,191m/10,469ft), a part of the three white summits known as Shirane Sanzan.
