Shogenji Temple in Takamori Town has connections to last year’s NHK taiga drama, “Naotora: the Lady Warlord”
Naotora, a female daimyo during the Sengoku period, and her fiancé, Kamenojo, spent many of their early years here at Shogenji Temple.
In late autumn, bright orange persimmons are hung on strings around the temple’s bell tower.
