Two weekends ago I was invited by @italianstories & @tusciawelcome to take a short trip to the land of Tuscia (pronounced "Tooshah"), a little "forgotten" land in the north of Lazio, and the south of Tuscany. I admit that though I had visited one or two little towns in the area, I basically knew nothing about its complex and rich history. A mountainside land near Rome, it had always attracted the big powers of time; from the Etruscans to Roman, to the Popes and important families of Renaissance and the following baroque period. Therefore this area is not only rich with impressive palaces, villas and gardens, it also has a long tradition of craftsmanship. Ceramics, goldsmithing and food production are at best in this area. It's shocking to discover how this place is talked about, considering the breathtaking landscape views that can easily compare with those of Tuscany, and the fact that it's less than 2 hours away from Rome.
