The Manpei Hotel—one of Karuizawa’s longest running accommodations.

Founded in the 27th year of the Meiji Period (1894), the Manpei Hotel has a long history in Karuizawa, and is considered one of its oldest institutions.

It is also said to be the backdrop of the film “The Wind Rises” directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
