But the megafauna, the massive geological features, the immense features of landscapes that coalesce to form an image of place are only part of story. Every landscape is made up of trillions of tiny pieces stacked on top of one another, all relying on the last to function in balance. Upset too many pieces, the load those tiny changes place on the connective tissue around them is ultimately reflected in the larger whole and the system is irrevocably altered. Similarly, storytelling relies on nuance and subtly…the details and pieces that come together to tell the bigger picture. Iron and sulfur run red in Iceland.
