I’m going to try and quickly sum up what Stevie Ray Vaughan means to guitar players, specifically in my generation. You know how kids today shoot hoops til it’s too dark to see and yell “Kobe!” every time they release the ball? That was us with a guitar. Except the sun never set. We played and played and played and all we ever thought about was how to come even remotely close to the energy, precision and emotion that Stevie had. He was our hero. Our true boyhood hero. He was what made us special, when seemingly nothing else did. Many of us owe him everything. I know I do. ♥️
