“Helmet" premiered in Sachs’s 2007 solo exhibit, “SPACE PROGRAM,” at Gagosian Beverly Hills—the artist pirated the milestone in collective memory when man took his first steps on the moon, reconstructed its key components, built them to scale, and created his own life-size “SPACE PROGRAM.”
