アナハ タウンハウスのプロジェクトについてです。今年一月から正式にホノルル市に申請する為の書類をパレカナという「サードパーティー」いわゆる下見をして下さる会社に依頼し、見ていただきました。
「サードパーティー」会社というのは、ホノルル市の許認可局に代わって書類の詳細を見てくださる会社で、許認可局のOBの方々が沢山いらっしゃいます。
3週間ほど前にようやくその会社からのオーケーが出て、ホノルル市の認可局に入り、通常でしたらもうとっくに認可が下りてよい段階です。
ところが、またさらなる書類提出の追加要請が来てしまい、エレベーター取り付け前の段階である取り外しで工事が止まってしまいました。
タウンハウスに住んでいるのに、中の移動手段が無いので、建物全体のエレベーターを使って行き来をする状況です。
建設業界にいるものにとって、本当にこのシステムはどうにかしてもらいたい。業界として圧力もかけているのですが、一向に状況が改善されないのが困ったものです。

I cannot help sharing this with everybody. We have started working permit process for Anaha Town House project with Palekana, or known as Third Party that do review and pre-check the drawings prior to Honolulu City and County’s Building Department.
Third Party review in fact help owners and design team to shorten the process of Honolulu City and County's review process so that construction can start earlier than the conventional way. Many of OBs from Building Departments are with third party review companies.
About three weeks ago, final Palekana approved the drawings set and they went into the process of building department. Usually, from there, it takes a few weeks to get an approval. But not this time. They requested additional paper work and the process of constructions stopped at the end of demolition.
We removed all of the stairs within the unit and we are moving up and down using the public (condo) elevator system. Very frustrating. As I am in the industry, I strongly feel the need for change in the system and many people and organizations such as AIA and ASID need to put pressure on the government to improve the process.
But we are not succeeding to change much!
