The answer is simple: be of service. Selfishness doesn’t lead to happiness, I know, I tried it for years. Selfishness leads to entitlement, resentment, bitterness, and despair. Selfishness leads to Trump.. Caring about something outside of yourself is, paradoxically, the only way to find true happiness. Be of service to others, remembering that every living thing on the planet struggles and suffers and is ultimately dismayed and baffled by pain, sickness, and mortality. Love others, help others, serve others, live for something bigger than yourself, and you will find happiness.
