?? C’est un travail minutieux qui s’est joué ce matin au musée du Louvre ! ?

De retour de l’exposition récemment achevée « D’un Louvre à l’autre » au @louvreabudhabi, le tableau « Thomyris fait plonger la tête de Cyrus dans un vase rempli de sang » de Rubens a retrouvé sa place sur les cimaises du 2ème étage de l’aile Richelieu. La manœuvre a nécessité une grande précision de la part des équipes du musée, l’œuvre et son grand cadre en bois doré sont à manipuler avec précaution.
Ce cadre, imposant et fragile, n’a d’ailleurs pas accompagné le tableau de Rubens lors de son déplacement à Abu Dhabi. Afin de le préserver, les ateliers muséographiques du Louvre ont créé un cadre plus léger destiné à voyager avec le tableau.

Maintenant que l’œuvre et son cadre sont réunis, profitez-en pour venir (re)découvrir ce chef-d’œuvre de Rubens ! ?

Back from the exhibition "From one Louvre to another" at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the painting "Tomyris, queen of the Scythes, plunges the Head of Cyrus into a vessel of blood" by Rubens has found its place again on the walls of the 2nd floor of the Richelieu wing. The manoeuvre required great precision from the museum team; the work and its large gilded wooden frame must be handled carefully.
For that matter, this imposing and fragile frame did not accompany Rubens' painting in its trip to Abu Dhabi. In order to preserve it, the Louvre's workshops have created a lighter frame designed to travel with the painting.

Now that the work and its frame are reunited, take the opportunity to come and (re)discover this masterpiece by Rubens! ?
