@africanparksnetwork has worked tirelessly over the past months to help Chad restore its black rhinoceros. Last seen in Zakouma National Park in the 1970’s, 6 rhinos touched down today in Zakouma after a flight from South Africa. @sanparks worked with the Chad government and @africanparksnetwork to source these rhinos, keep them safe in the Cape, and finally move them by air to Chad. With as few as 2500 individuals left in the wild, this historic trans-boundary collaboration is some of the best news for the species since he wave of poaching that has hit Africa in the last ten years. #follow me @stevewinterphoto and my cameraman @alexbraczkowski on our adventure to document these rhinos first days in the wilderness of their new home in Zakouma, Chad.
