While there is nothing inherently dangerous about the act of sewing, this tragedy highlighted the unsafe and unacceptable working conditions many garment workers face - not just in Bangladesh but around the world. At Intent Journal, we believe unequivocally in the need for a more transparent and responsible fashion industry. We refuse to believe that any worker throughout the fashion supply chain is less important than the end wearer; nor that any human should be harmed by our desire to look good. Which is why we support Fashion Revolution: an important campaign pushing for greater accountability and respect in the garment industry. We encourage all of our readers to engage in Fashion Revolution Week (23 - 29 April) by asking their favourite brands the simple question, "Who made my clothes?" But let's not isolate this questioning to one week of the year. Keep demonstrating to brands that you care - every time you purchase something new. Ask them how they are approaching their social and environmental impact and where this is reflected in their business. Nobody, regardless of where they sit throughout the supply chain, should die in the name of fashion. @fash_rev @fash_rev_ausnz
