Video by @Joel Sartore | Madagascar sacred ibises like this one at the Parc Botanique Et Zoologique de Tsimbazaza were once revered by ancient Egyptians. Now, they can only be found on the islands of Madagascar and Seychelles. These beautiful birds are listed as Endangered and because they are so docile and fearless in nature, adults as well as their eggs and nestlings are easily trapped and taken for food. Thankfully, there are captive breeding programs in action at the Parc Botanique Et Zoologique de Tsimbazaza to help maintain the species’ population.
