For all of March we have been celebrating Women’s History Month. A work by Cindy Sherman is included in "Dancing with myself" at Punta della Dogana, Venice. The show opens April 8. “I really don’t think that [the images] are about me. It’s maybe about me maybe not wanting to be me and wanting to be all these other characters. Or at least try them on.”

Sheman's work has evolved through uncanny representations of peculiar and grotesque characters: from centerfolds, clowns, subjects of Renaissance paintings, and other cultural phenomena. The American photographer and film director currently lives and works in New York.
