Today we wish a happy birthday to #TootsZynsky, born on this day in 1951. An innovator of glasswork, she is best known for her “filet de verre” (glass thread) technique. To create her unique vessels, she pulls thousands of thin strands of colored glass, layers them, and then fuses them in a kiln. Wearing heat resistant gloves, she then reaches into the kiln to manipulate the work into its final form. #WomensHistoryMonth #5womenartists
