Haitian-born, Miami-based artist Tomm El-Saieh creates large paintings with many with small, obsessively applied marks.
El-Saieh is the grandson of a maestro who led a big band that combined Vodou drumming, Cuban piano, and American saxophone. The artist has
been deeply influenced by the transfixing power of sonic rhythm.
