I remember the first time I went to Greece, I thought “this isn’t what I expected” - I was a little let down. I visited some very touristy places and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought. The SECOND time I went to Greece, I got to visit my family in Greece and go to Crete (the most beautiful place ever) and I cannot even describe the feelings I got when I was there. I have never felt so “at home” in a place that wasn’t my home. It was so authentic and not too over populated with tourism. The smells, the people, the food just reminded me of my Grandparents. I felt SOO lucky. I AM so lucky to still have my grandparents in my life. My papou (my dads dad) passed away when I was 2, so I never really got to know him. But I still have both my Yiayias and my Papou on my Mums side! They are THE BEST. My goal is to get them to come to Greece with me one day!
