Flynn the #bichonfris was crowned #BestInShow at the 142nd @westminsterkennelclub Dog Show last night. The champion cut a striking, cloudlike figure in the ring: His powder-puff fur was painstakingly coifed, and he trotted jauntily across the floor with a step that looked almost lighter than air. “I came in expecting nothing and just hoping for a good performance and I think I got it,” said Bill McFadden, his handler. The pup, who was photographed here by @karstenmoran, turns 6 in March. The victory was the result of years of training — and more than a little preshow grooming. “You bathe him and dry him and then trim him, then retrim him at the show, then trim him again when he wins,” said Taffe McFadden, Bill’s wife. The McFaddens also took time to powder Flynn’s nose — literally — with a shimmering white substance kept in a small container marked “Fairy Frost.” “It’s stuff that dries the drool on their face,” Taffe said. “It’s like cornstarch.” Swipe left to see more photos by @karstenmoran.
