I took this photograph while guiding Flip Nicklin on a National Geographic Assignment in Churchill Manitoba. The year was 1996 and I was just starting to have my first dreams of becoming at National Geographic photographer. After this trip, Flip began to mentor me and taught me the importance of story-telling and journalism, which ultimately landed me my first story at @ナショナルジオグラフィック. Since then, I have mentored many photographers and primarily teach them about the importance of becoming conservation photojournalists. Scientists predict that the Arctic will be void of all sea ice in the summer months in the next 10 to 30 years having dire consequences for polar bear populations. #followme on @paulnicklen to see how all species need healthy ecosystems.
