Did you know that giraffes are the world’s tallest land animal? And that each has a different pattern of spots? No two giraffes are the same! They are also one of only two species born with horns called ‘ossicones’. To protect their heads, male giraffes have five ossicones, which form a kind of helmet and protect them during fights. The ossicones of a female are smaller and have a small tuft of fur on top. We could watch these fascinating, long-legged creatures all day! #ForTheWild ?: @c.l.e.photography
