My love of my life, my best friend and my Fuel... you give me LIFE sweetheart! I have always consciously tried to have a happy positive attitude in life but sometimes I have to create the energy or even pull it out of thin air.
What I’ve realized though, is that @brookslaich has become my Power Station. One look, one conversation or one thought of him can change my whole day around from Blah, to freakin’ AWESOME just like that! ?
He turns my expectations into appreciations and the little ever day struggles into gratitude.
We both have careers that take us away from each other for periods of time so we always have to make it a priority to refuel each other. It’s so important for us to find uninterrupted moments to be present with each other- usually over FaceTime! ??
Our key phrase we use so the other doesn’t feel attacked or defensive when we need more time is “My Jules tank is running low” or “I need to fill up my Brooks tank”. That’s when we know that we need to have a real present conversation with no distractions. That can be challenging when the nature of your world is being surrounded by people all the time- something I had to learn early on in our relationship ? whoops! My bad! ??Even a 5 min conversation with more substance than just what we did that day is super important for us.
Staying connected shouldn’t be hard, but it does take effort. I’m so grateful that we both speak the same language and make each others need our own needs!
Thank you baby for always challenging my learned behaviors I tend to slide in to and help me become a more aware wife, sister, daughter and friend!
