TIME’s videographers captured footage of first responders preparing for rescue efforts as Hurricane Irma approached Florida. Staff sergeant Tyler Gaenzle, a parajumper in the U.S. Air Force, was just in Texas a week ago rescuing flood victims from Hurricane Harvey. “It’s a quick turnaround,” Gaenzle told TIME on Saturday. Gaenzle said the motivation for him and his fellow first responders is to challenge themselves and to help people. “That’s why we signed up.” ⠀
