Hey guys happy Sunday! By now you probably know that every Sunday I donate my social media to my @YearsofLiving team to talk about carbon pricing! This week's #PutAPriceOnIt post is from Emma Su, a rising Senior at Scripps College in Claremont, CA. Read this if you want to know ways to get involved! "This nation is at a crossroads. We can either continue on a dire path of exploitation and misuse of the world’s resources or strive to reduce our environmental impact in hopes of slowing the dramatic effects of climate change. The current political atmosphere is not taking the consequences of climate change seriously and it is up to each and every one of us to fight to protect our future from continued disregard for vital environmental protections. Not only is not enough action being taken, but science is also under attack and is being denied, ignored, discredited, defunded and hidden. Believing in and standing up for science and pursuing a greater understanding of our world has become a radical act under this administration. Oil, gas and special interests have spent hundreds of millions of dollars funding climate denial and discrediting science. Take direct action not only by voicing your opinion to your elected officials, but also directly to federal agencies such as the EPA. Submit public comments through regulations.gov and fight back against changes to how our federal agencies deal with our environment and land management. For example, the EPA is currently taking public comments on a rule that would reduce water protections under the Clean Water Act. Pay attention to local action and push for change on every level. Hold officials accountable: tell them we want to hear from scientists, we believe climate change is real and needs action, and that a healthy future and clean legacy are more important than business interests."
