#MemoryLaneMonday True story- I lost it first hearing this beat in the studio!! The fact that we (TOTAL) were going to sing over it was bananas to me. A girl from Jersey who had a dream had no clue that she & her group members would be singing over the infamous #SouthBronx By the GREAT #KRS-One...Boogie Down Productions!!! We had no idea how "Ms.Terri (Robinson) was gonna pull this off, writing over such a hard,beat knockin track. She kilt it! The melodies were SICK and the lyrics was everything a strong woman could be at once. Honest,forward, vulnerable & strong. Puffy & Trackmasters were geniuses for this!!! Not to mention a collab with Da Brat?!! She murdered her verse!! And then Hype Williams put the visual together when he directed the video.Drops the mic...picks it back up.
Puff calls us to see the 1st edit. He clowned me for my nails being overly curved but you couldn't tell me nothing....until I saw the shot?? When you see the shot...you'll know. Great memories.
