Covered in purple silk velvet and decorated with metal plaques and bells, these exquisite clogs were designed to be worn inside. The floral designs were made using a technique called repoussage – hammering metal pieces from behind to create a low relief design on the front. These clogs were made in the late 19th century and belonged to an Armenian woman whose family migrated to Syria at the start of the 20th century.
