In celebration of Frank Lloyd Wright's 150th birthday on June 8, we will highlight various sites throughout the month designed by the iconic Guggenheim architect. We're starting off with Wright's home, @taliesinpreservation, in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Wright’s home, studio, and and 800-acre agricultural estate was a laboratory for architecture and design. In its three iterations, Taliesin embodies Wright’s ideas of organic architecture—a departure from earlier Prairie School works. From the courtyards and gardens to the Living Room, Loggia, and Birdwalk, Taliesin offers a commanding view of the valley, settled by Wright’s Welsh ancestors. Using natural local limestone and Wisconsin River sand, Taliesin stands as a “shining brow” on Wright’s favorite boyhood hill.
