On January 3, 1961, at the Kennedy compound in West Palm Beach, Florida, world famous photographer Richard Avedon set up his temporary studio to make a series of images that would appear in Harper's Bazaar to mark the inauguration of the fashionable Kennedy family. ?? Avedon used a 2 ¼ Rolleiflex camera resulting in square film negatives. Image #2 is an enlargement of a contact sheet of part of that photo session. Contact sheets are made by placing the film negative directly on the paper and exposing it. The developed image gives photographers and editors an easy way to see the content on the film. ?

The first image in this set was an image the photographer selected to be the final print. Would you have picked the same from this group of 12? ?
