By now you’ve seen Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Rooms on your feed, but do you know about the artist’s paintings and sculptures too?
Kusama started her “My Eternal Soul” series in 2009—now it has more than 500 works. She’s said she hopes to trace the “beauty of colors and space in the silence of death’s footsteps and the ‘nothingness’ it promises.” Like her mirrored spaces, the colors and patterns on these canvasses seem to pulse within their borders.
#InfiniteKusama runs through May 14 at our @hirshhorn, which has just extended hours for closing weekend (details at kusama.si.edu). Walk-up passes are still available each day.
