This animal here is a #Pangolin, extremely rare and sadly one of the most trafficked mammals in the world for their meat and scales. I was extremely lucky to see this one yesterday at the #malilangwewildlifereserve in #Zimbabwe, spotted while crossing the road! Once it moved into the tall grass it was extremely difficult to see, they blend right in and seem to vanish right before your eyes. Pangolins are nocturnal, mostly feed on ants and termites and have large, protective keratin scales that cover their skin. They are the only known mammals with this adaptation. @danahrichardson @claire_descamps @ddescamps
